Adventure Day!

We went on a brilliant day out the other day - a real Adventure Day!  We've been learning all about public transport and working towards our skill builder badges in Explore and Adventure themes.  So on Saturday we put that learning into action.

We started from outside our meeting place at Hamdon Youth & Family Centre, catching the no. 81 public bus and buying our own tickets from the driver to Yeovil Bus Station.   Moving across to another bus stand, we caught a second one to Yeovil Junction Station.  There we even met the South Western Railway Community A mbassador who gave us a tour of the station!

We bought our own train tickets some of us from the lady in the ticket office and some of us using the ticket machine, just like grown ups do. We caught the train to Sherborne and went on a lovely tour of the Almshouses.  We even got to have a picnic in their pretty enclosed rear garden!

And then we went round the wonderful Abbey - it was beautiful, peaceful - and so big!   We all thought the day was exciting, challenging, awesome, an adventure  and we saw some beautiful places.  It's great fun belonging to 1st Stoke Brownies!
